The Hard Way Down

Torrey Pines State Reserve, La Jolla, California

So there is a great surf break off of the beach below the Torrey Pines gilderport. Accordingly, there is a pretty well-trodden path taking you down the huge cliff to the beach, which most surfers run down frighteningly fast with bare feet and huge boards in tow. Well, apparently that path is only for pansies because as I was making my way down I looked over and saw this guy making his own, more direct path straight down a ridge of the cliff- of course with bare feet. Every now and then he would go out of sight, and I frankly just assumed he was tumbling down the other side. He made it down safely though…what a show-off ;)
